Module 8 of 12 · 急诊中文 Emergency Medicine
急诊检查 Tests: IVs, Blood, Scans and Consent
Talk patients through tests in Mandarin: the IV, blood and urine samples, CT and MRI, who gives results, and consent through an interpreter.
By the end of this module you can…
- Talk a patient through an IV and a blood draw with honest, step-by-step words, and spot a fainter early.
- Explain a clean-catch urine sample plainly and without embarrassment.
- Prepare a patient for CT contrast and an MRI: the warmth, metal, noise and the call button.
- Say who gives the results, and keep your promise about when you’ll be back.
- Support consent through a professional interpreter, and respond when a patient says no.
